What is a suggested donation amount for our stay at Selah?

Most groups for a 2 or 3 day stay give donations amounts ranging from $300 and upward. That being said, Selah offers our campsite on a donation basis so that no group or individuals would be unable to come for a stay at Selah.

How do we submit donations?

Cash donations are submitted onsite to camp host staff.                                                                                        eTransfers can be sent to viewfieldfarms@gmail.com although we request that one transfer be made from each group rather thatn each camper sending their individual e-transfers.                                                Cheques are payable to Viewfield Farms.  Mailing address is 3539 Cessford Road, Courtenay BC, V9J 1R4.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM SIZED GROUP ALLOWED AT SELAH?

Minimum group size: Since Selah is a large group campsite and is booked to only one group at a time, the minimum amount of group size would be 8 families (or camp groups) per church. In the quieter shoulder seasons we can make exceptions to this rule for smaller groups.

Maximum group size: There are two factors that go into our maximum size. The first is that no more then 200 campers can be staying at Selah at one time. The second is that this amount roughly translates in a limit of about 25 RV's/tents/family groups.

IS THERE ANY RISK WITH WILDLIFE IN THE AREA?

Selah is a wildnerness campsite. While most of our visitors are as benign as deer and rabbits, we do have the odd black bear or raccoon sighting. These sightings most commonly occur during the shoulder seasons.

We have never had any dangerous encounters, but respect and awareness must be maintained, especially in the storage of all food, secured away in vehicles overnight (not in tents).

HOW SAFE IS IT TO SWIM IN THE RIVER?

The Puntledge River has various rapids and fluctuating levels at any given time. River shoes (not sandals) are mandatory and life jackets are highly suggested.

  • No one should tube of swim alone.
  • The campsite supervisor may close the riverfront if the waterflows are higher than normal.
  • Selah does not provide lifeguards.
  • Selah does not assume any responsibility for individual or group use of the river.

DOES SELAH PROVIDE ELECTRICITY?

"DUDE, WHERE CAN I CHARGE MY IPHONE?"

Selah has no electricity.

Generators are prohibited unless they are the smallest and quietest type (ie. Honda 1000 or 2000).
